Waiting for reality to hit

A little over two weeks to go until my first solo trip to another country will begin and it still hasn't sunken in that very soon I'll be over 15000kms from Australia! I imagine myself sitting in a warm wooden hut high up in the mountains, drinking a cold beer infront of a fireplace while snow is falling all around as I take a break from hours of fun Sliding down the snow covered slopes up high in the Austrian Alps. I see myself meeting so many new people that I can't even memorize all their names or their pale faces. I imagine lots of people walking around wearing the same clothes as each other and staring at me like I'm from another planet although australia comes close!

Then I wonder how different it will be in reality and if I'm going to laugh at my own blog entry once I'm over there and have experienced it all!

I still have lots of things to do in the next couple weeks like arrange travel insurance, pay off my debts with the family, tie up the loose ends from my last trip, work out what I need to pack and prepare myself a little more mentally so I have some idea of where exactly I'll be going and how I'm going to get there. Knowing me I'll probably end up doing all this a few days before my flight if not later!
